-More heat warnings issued for a huge part of MB as humidex values up to 38 expected for next 3 days, but relief coming this weekend.
-As the heat wave continues, so does the high demand for repairs to air conditioning systems & the need for home cooling solutions, according to industry experts.
-Animal welfare agencies are warning pet owners to keep their animals out of vehicles in the incoming summer heat, or face fines for doing so. For example, in WPG Since May 1, the Humane Society received 138 calls about animals locked in vehicles.
-Brandon outdoor water facilities open for the season: Spray Parks & Paddle Pools Thursday, June 8, Kinsmen Pool has a tentative opening of Thursday, June 15, and Spray Parks will stay open until September 2.
-MB RCMP say a car crashed into a building in Wawanesa creating a large hole Friday on on Main Street. Through their investigation, police learned a 42-year-old woman was driving an SUV that crashed into the building and say threats were made by the driver prior to the collision and charges are pending.
-Manitoba announces free Family Fishing Weekend at provincial parks. Friday through Sunday and you won’t need a licence to fish.
-ND Governor prepares to enter U.S. presidential race. Doug Burgum posts video in advance of formally launching campaign for 2024 Republican nomination.
