-Env Canada investigating reports that 2 separate tornadoes may have touched down in MB Wed. The first potential twister; the Venlawn area, the second in the Brookdale area. Alerts were issued after tornado was reported north of Gilbert Plains. Much of southern MB was under watches for tornadoes, thunderstorms.

-GATES are OPEN.  Dauphin Countryfest welcomed first concert goers & campers yesterday.  The music festival runs through Sunday in Dauphin.

-MB RCMP are investigating a collision involving a semi-truck on Highway 10 just north of Brandon Tues afternoon.

-BPS, RCMP & Wpg Police have arrested 21 men as a result of an investigation into sexual exploitation in Bdn. Arrested range in age from 30 to 84.

-MB teachers to complete treaty education training by end of 2025. Province to spend up to $1.3M on treaty education resources sent to MB schools this fall.

-BU is now requiring all new students to take at least one Indigenous-based course during their university career. Every student who comes to Brandon University cannot graduate unless they’ve taken at least three credit hours of courses in Indigenous programming.

-MB Hydro workers threaten another strike 2 years after last labour dispute. Wages a major sticking point, union for 2,300 front-line Hydro workers says.

-Chicago Blackhawks select Connor Bedard first overall at NHL draft.

-Madonna intubated in ICU after being found unresponsive in NYC. Madonna’s longtime manager, Guy Oseary, shared that his client had “developed a serious bacterial infection which led to a several day stay in the ICU.” World Tour postponed.

-Forks to have beefed-up security for Canada Day party in light of 2022 stabbing. Riverbank and Shilo ready for the two largest celebrations in the Brandon area Saturday.
