-Free Fry Day in Brandon Thursday raises more than $15K for charity. Staff estimate 29,000 pounds of potato products handed out.
-9 cultural groups to be part of a Summer Multicultural Celebration at the Riverbank Discovery Centre July 29. Event seen as a stepping stone toward bringing back the Westman Multicultural Festival, which hasn’t been held since 2020.
-MB gov says searching landfill for remains of Indigenous women too risky. The province looks to the federal government for support.
-CancerCare Manitoba to offer $8.4M specialized MRI machine by early 2024: province. Funds for the machine come largely from private donations to CancerCare Manitoba.
-Man dies in hospital after being Tasered by Winnipeg police, watchdog investigating.
-Province spending $10 million to improve safety in Winnipeg’s downtown. The plan includes 24 new downtown-based officers, enhanced lighting, 75 CCTV cameras, & centralized crime prevention hub.
