Electric Cars will soon be MANDATORY. Canada will announce this week that ALL NEW CARS must have ZERO emissions by 2035, as part of something called the Electric Vehicle Availability Standard, and the move to electric starts now, with British Columbia and Quebec already regulating sales targets. Zero-emission vehicles – which include battery electric, plug-in and hydrogen models – must represent 20% of new car sales in 2026, 60% in 2030 then 100% in 2035.
