Leons Headlines Aug 19: Brandon residents will have their final chance to speak to the new 30-year city plan in a public hearing tonight at City Hall at 7pm. The city is obligated under the provincial Planning Act to introduce the plan.

-People in McCreary grapple with triple homicide. Community members shocked & saddened after 4 people were found dead Friday morning.

-Brandon police are investigating the death of a 22yr old man after being called to a hotel on the 3500 block of Vic Ave Saturday morning. It is not currently considered suspicious.

-Investigators are working to determine the cause of a fire on 1st street near the intersection with Lorne Ave Sunday afternoon. Elsewhere a 24-year-old woman was charged with arson with disregard for human life, assault, mischief to property, possession of dangerous weapons and uttering threats after allegedly setting a fire in a room at the Colonial Inn on Queens Saturday afternoon, forcing the inn and its occupants to be evacuated.

-Hollywood actor Bob Odenkirk, from Breaking Bad & Better Call Saul, threw the first pitch at the Goldeyes game Saturday. Odenkirk is filming Nobody 2 in Wpg, a sequel to the 2019 hit.

-Bombers drop the Lions in CFL action 20-11.
