HAPPY BURGER DAY!!! International Hamburger Day celebrates the beloved hamburger, traditionally made with a ground beef patty in a bun and topped with condiments and various fixings. Though its exact origin is debated, the burger gained popularity in the U.S. around the early 1900s and has since evolved with many variations like turkey and veggie burgers. Celebrate by enjoying a burger at home, a local spot, or even traveling to try one of the best burgers in the world.

Orkin is out with it’s annual list of Top 10 Mosquito cities in the US and Canada. Soon the pests will be everywhere, but some places have them worse than others. Here are 10 Canadian cities often reported to have the most mosquitoes ranked from worst to still kinda bad. No surprise Manitoba is #1.

Winnipeg, Manitoba – Often dubbed the “Mosquito Capital of Canada” due to its flat landscape, wetlands, and humid summers.

Regina, Saskatchewan – Surrounded by marshes and flat prairie, it’s a mosquito magnet, especially after heavy rains.

Edmonton, Alberta – Warm summers and nearby wetlands lead to frequent mosquito outbreaks.

Thunder Bay, Ontario – Bordered by forests and lakes, it’s a hotspot in mosquito season.

Sudbury, Ontario – The many lakes and swampy areas in and around the city attract plenty of mosquitoes.

Ottawa, Ontario – Humid summers and the Ottawa River make for ideal mosquito breeding grounds.

Calgary, Alberta – While drier than Edmonton, it still sees mosquito spikes, especially after rainstorms.

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – Flat terrain and periodic flooding make it a mosquito haven during the warmer months.

Brandon, Manitoba – With the Assiniboine River and surrounding farmland, it gets swarmed in peak season.

Montreal, Quebec – Urban heat mixed with riverfront and green spaces can bring high mosquito activity, especially in July.

Southwest Airlines has officially ended its iconic “bags fly free” policy as of today. Passengers now face fees of $35 for the first checked bag and $45 for the second, unless they hold premium fares, A-List status, or a co-branded credit card. This officially ends the era of free bags on flights, but now means PILLOWS are going to be EVERYWHERE.

Some carry-ons will be food related. In fact your personal bag can be plastic and contain and entire CHICKEN! Chloe Gray went viral after bringing a whole rotisserie chicken as her carry-on snack, passing through TSA and eating it mid-flight to avoid overpriced airport food. The New York influencer shared the quirky experience on TikTok, calling it her version of a first-class meal, earning over 500,000 views.
