Manitoba province-wide state of emergency-rapidly spreading wildfires that have forced the evacuation of over 17,000 residents, marking one of the largest evacuations in the province’s history. The fires have scorched approximately 491,000 acres, with 102 active wildfires reported, many of which are out of control. Smoke from the fires is affecting air quality across the province and drifting into parts of the U.S. Midwest.
