Canadians are LOVING Cash NOW MORE THAN ever! A Bank of Canada report shows that Canadians are holding more cash in their wallets than in recent years. The trend reflects a growing preference for cash transactions despite the rise of digital payments.
Chris Dimmery: I will not support a cashless business! I’ll go without or shop elsewhere. Cash is king.
Corey Werschler: I still use cash as much as possible.
Cindy Olinyk: I just go with the flow.
Tracy Murphy: Going cashless just gives banks more money from surcharges. Banks are wealthy enough without charging for Interac & service fees. The internet crashes too often. If a business won’t accept cash, I won’t be using it.
Michele Carels: Absolutely! Technology is still not reliable. When we had that Rogers outage in 2022, it showed us cash is king.
Marty Madsen: If a business is going cashless, I’m not using it.
Jason Ries: Last thing we need is a cashless society.
Holly Martinook: One Christmas Eve, when I worked for a bank, the entire debit/credit system crashed across Canada. The panic was almost as bad as when the pandemic was announced. Not a good idea.
Sherallyn Robertson: I still use both. The elderly mostly use cash.
Allan Melcosky: Tyler Glen, whatever the business decides, it’s all good here. 👌
Lynn Wittman Fortune: Not everyone has a bank account and they survive using cash only. By going cashless, a business decides who can shop there. Not a good idea.
Dana Clark (Top Fan): It definitely matters. My 15-year-old saved up her money to shop in Saskatoon. She tapped her card, the system crashed, and her card was charged. Now we’re fighting to get her money back, but the store says they can’t do anything unless she comes back—definitely not driving 6 hours to sort it out. Frustrating!
Brandy Marie: Yes. I am not in support of a cashless society.
Derrick Zalluski: Better get used to it now! Cash has no value anymore—start packing your crypto bags.
Heather Dalgleish: No cash, no business from me.
Sherri Black: It’s all about control. Just one more step closer. No, I certainly would not support them.
Colin Kiser: It’s coming.
Bev Papegnies: Cash is gold. Last thing we need is a cashless society.
Hannah Stoneman: Cash is king! We’ve gotten far too comfortable letting third parties carry our money. One system outage, and thousands could be unable to feed their children.
Sharon Fehr: Not a good idea to go cashless. The internet isn’t reliable; it goes down too often.
