My very first radio station will soon be no more. In December of 1991, I was Christmas “fill in” at 880 CKLQ in Brandon MB, and as of midnight August 31st, they’ll shut off the AM portion of the station. This after the CRTC approved Pattison Media’s request to delete its license. The station cited costly tower repairs, fencing, and maintenance as reasons it’s no longer financially viable.
