Air travel should get better, after it gets worse first. The US Government shutdown should end this week, after a path to resolution was put forward by Democrats in the US Senate Sunday. This will take some time to work it’s way through to the President’s desk and translate into normal operation of the US Government and air travel across North America, but it’s now days instead of weeks of wait.
Canadians traveling to Europe will soon face new entry requirements under the EU’s ETIAS system, expected to launch in 2025. Travelers will need to complete an online pre-screening and pay a small fee before departure. The change is meant to enhance border security but could add extra steps for Canadians planning European vacations.
