Leons Headlines Dec 18: Blizzard Warning Orange LIFTED at 7:20am this morning for much of Westman, as the Trans-Canada highway from Wpg to the SK border remains closed due to poor driving conditions. Orange Blizzard Warning moves to Portage & Wpg.
-Drivers are asked to check manitoba511.ca for the latest updates, as blizzard conditions with gusty winds & visibility frequently near zero in snow & blowing will continue until Thursday afternoon, and travel not recommended.
-It doesn’t happen often, but all Westman School Divisions closed in the storm with the exception of Brandon, whose buses ran inside the city and schools remained open.
-The Winnipeg School divison closed Thursday amid the blizzard, joining Fort LaBosse, Beautiful Plains, Turtle Mountain, Park West, Rolling River, SW Horizon, Turtle River, Prairie Spirit, Alexander, O’Kelly, Spring Valley, Ecole La Source and Ecole St. Lazare.
