Canada’s PM Adresses the EU Parliment and the world takes notice. Mark Carney is in Europe pitching a much deeper Canada-EU relationship, including the possibility of Canada becoming the bloc’s first “associate member.” The idea would mean closer cooperation in areas like defence, critical minerals, AI, energy and digital trade.
US Reaction — Trump. Donald Trump has reacted strongly to the idea of Canada becoming an EU associate member, calling the proposal “laughable” and warning Europe could face very serious tariffs if he considers the move hostile. The comments add another layer to the already tense trade relationship between Canada, the U.S. and Europe.
US Reaction — Democrats. Democrats are also weighing in as the Canada-EU proposal becomes another point of debate in Washington over America’s relationship with its northern neighbour. The bigger question is whether closer Canadian ties with Europe change the economic and strategic balance between Canada and the United States.

Now after intially forming a negative reaction, Spain may be something for me to consider. Tim Hortons + WestJet. Tim Hortons coffee is officially going airborne, with a new Flight Roast designed specifically for drinking at 35,000 feet coming to WestJet flights November 30. And in 2027, Tims Rewards and WestJet Rewards members will be able to link their accounts and earn WestJet points on eligible Tim Hortons purchases.
Nerf Roller Coaster — West Edmonton Mall. West Edmonton Mall is getting a brand-new Nerf-themed roller coaster in Galaxyland, replacing the legendary Mindbender that closed in 2023. The really cool part is that riders will eventually be able to choose between a family-friendly Core mode and a more intense Quantum mode with bigger twists, inversions and higher speeds.
Fast & Furious Coaster — Universal Studios Hollywood. The new Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift has officially opened at Universal Studios Hollywood, giving the franchise its own high-speed outdoor roller coaster. It features four launches, multiple inversions and speeds of up to 72 mph, with riders even sitting in vehicles inspired by cars from the movies.
