Sunrise Records is opening a location in Brandon, bringing vinyl, CDs, and pop culture merchandise to Shoppers Mall. It reflects the continued demand for physical media and in-person music shopping. Almost a decade ago they took over the leases in many malls from HMV, growing into one of the country’s largest music retail chains. (this was from 10 years ago.)

FAST FORWARD to 2026-The Mall is HOT again. Gen Z is increasingly returning to malls for shopping, socializing, and in-person experiences. Retail trends show a renewed interest in physical spaces over purely online shopping.

But WHAT Stores/experiences do YOU want to come to the mall. Westman Shoppers mad thier voices heard Wednesday and it appears Brandon is ripe for an OLD NAVY store (Dakota Square Minot has one.) Here’s the top 5 responses.

RETRO is hot stuff, Zellers is BACK! Zellers is expanding its comeback with new locations opening in Alberta and more planned for Ontario. The revived brand is testing a mix of food, toys, and general merchandise.
