Lyle and Erik Menendez may have a path to potential release. Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón recommends they be resentenced due to new evidence suggesting they were abused by their father. Gascón acknowledges their prior convictions but believes their behavior in prison warrants reevaluation, citing them as “model prisoners” who have contributed positively to the lives of others. A hearing for resentencing could occur within 30 to 45 days, with hopes from their attorneys that they could be released by Thanksgiving.
