OUR BEACH HOUSE! Two years ago, I got this model beach house after being inspired by The Friendly Giant, a Canadian TV show I enjoyed as a kid. I could picture it all set up, surrounded by seashells and little beachy details, but when I opened the box, I was hit with how complicated it looked. The pieces and instructions seemed overwhelming, so there it sat in the corner, a little reminder of my good intentions. Recently, my dad noticed it collecting dust and asked if he could take a crack at putting it together. I thought, “Why not?” It was fun to watch him dive in with his usual enthusiasm. With a bit of patience and his crafty touch, he managed to turn those scattered pieces into this adorable beach house, complete with a tiny porch and bright colors. Seeing it all come together was a heartwarming moment, and it brought back all those childhood memories. Now it proudly sits on display, a testament to my dad’s skills and a lovely nod to the show that helped sparked my creativity, and gives the Sun Seekers a “Fictional Place to Call Home.”
