Friday afternoon flood in Winnipeg. A major water main break flooded Winnipeg streets Friday afternoon, sending water rushing through neighbourhoods in freezing temperatures. How do crews even begin cleanup when everything instantly turns to ice?

Not my video but I had to share! 😂😳 Video credit to @eddymcready It got down to -25°C today during the day, plus the winds were terrible. The Water main broke and flooded Main Street with deep water! #notgood #flooding #winnipeg #deepfreeze #watermainbreak

Canadians’ travel habits are changing. For years, domestic travel ranked number one for Canadians, with the U.S. a close second. Now Mexico has surged into the number-two spot as more Canadians chase sun and affordability.

Five years of social media searched at the border? You may have heard border agents can now search five years of your social media — but that’s not true for 99% of Canadians. We’ll explain who it actually affects and why most travellers don’t need to worry.

For most Canadians, THIS DOES NOT AFFECT YOU — but for some people LIVING in Canada it does.

Canadian citizens: No impact. Canadians do not need an ESTA to enter the U.S. by air or land, so the five-year social media requirement wouldn’t apply.

Canadian permanent residents (non-citizens): Yes, impacted. If they hold a passport from a Visa Waiver Program country (e.g., UK, France, Germany, Japan), they do need ESTA, so they’d have to provide five years of social media history.

Dual citizens: Depends which passport is used; if entering on a VWP passport, ESTA rules apply.

Bottom line:
This change mostly affects non-citizen Canadians, not Canadian passport holders — but it affects residents who travel to the U.S.

Christmas miracle: lost puppy found. A family has been reunited with their missing puppy five years after it disappeared — and more than 2,000 miles away. Proof that sometimes, miracles really do happen.

Everyday hero Christmas surprise. A feel-good holiday story about an everyday hero who helps kids cross the street every day. But he does it with an attitude that really resonated with these young people, and the surprise ending is pure Christmas spirit.
