THE SNOW IS COMING. The question is HOW MUCH?? Early predictions had 20-35 CM planned for the area, but thankfully that has fallen back to 10 to 20 cm. The heavy snow will start Friday night and continue through Saturday night. A developing low pressure system tracking along the international border will spread accumulating snow into southwestern Manitoba Friday night. Moderate easterly winds with this disturbance will produce areas of blowing snow on Friday night and into Saturday afternoon, which could result in deteriorating travel conditions. Additional warnings or advisories may be needed should forecast wind speeds or snowfall amounts increase further. The snow will taper off Saturday night. But how? Cody from Neo Nutes, an urban farm in Brandon, joined the show about his amazing operation of fish and fresh food! He works to produce fresh micro greens by using a sustainable organic food production, known as aquaponics. Aquaponics combines aquaculture (raising fish) with hydroponics (growing plants without soil) so that the nutrient rich aquaculture water is fed to plants, thus creating a symbiotic relationship. Translation: Good food that’s a good price and good for the environment. Need I say more?
