Headlines March 24: Western Canada witnessed a once in a generation light show from Northern Ontario to BC last night with intense Northern Lights dancing in the sky mainly in green. Experts suggest the natural light show starts when disturbances on the sun pull on Earth’s magnetic field, creating cosmic undulations known as Alfvén waves that launch electrons at high speeds into Earth’s atmosphere where they create the aurora. | TheMB Gov has announced $30M in private sector funding to create 300 jobs over 3 yrs in the province’s film and TV production industry, as Niverville announces creation of a studio. INCREDIBLE Northern Lights over Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and BC last night! Thanks for all the pictures!
The northern lights, also known as aurora borealis, are a beautiful natural light display that occurs in the sky in certain parts of the world, usually near the North Pole. When the sun releases particles called solar winds, they travel to Earth and interact with the Earth’s magnetic field. This interaction causes the particles to collide with gases in the Earth’s atmosphere, such as oxygen and nitrogen.
When these collisions happen, energy is released in the form of light, which creates the colorful and mesmerizing patterns of the northern lights. The colors you might see include green, pink, yellow, blue, and purple.
The northern lights are one of the most amazing things you can see in the night sky, and they have inspired many myths and stories throughout history. So if you ever have the chance to see them, it’s definitely worth staying up late!

President Biden is visiting Canada and we thought we would ask “what should we make for Joe” as a typical Canadian meal? Tyler thought bacon, a back bacon sandwich and pork chops for dinner would work well. Yeah a little heavy on the pork. Maybe some poutine and naniamo bars for desert, but all YOU wanted to do was make them eat foods that would make them poop. Prunes, fruit, laxitave. Even Viagra. Nice. While it’s funny and entertaining to talk about poop-related topics, and it’s often seen as a way to break the ice and make people feel more relaxed, Joe might like this stuff better.
TIK TOK BAN COMING? We hope not! Thousands of people watch the Tyler Glen Show on Tik Tok each month! 🙁 If the USA were to ban TikTok, the app would no longer be accessible in the country. Users would not be able to download the app from app stores, and existing users would not be able to use the app. Additionally, content creators in the US would lose access to their followers and audiences on TikTok. There could also be economic consequences, as TikTok is owned by a Chinese company called ByteDance. The ban could lead to tensions between the US and China, which could have wider implications for international trade and diplomacy. However, it’s important to note that the US has already attempted to ban TikTok in the past, but the ban was temporarily blocked by a federal judge. It’s unclear if future attempts to ban the app would be successful, and the situation remains complex and controversial. And the hearings were brutal. Here’s one creator actually quoting questions and answers from the hearings.
